to be fair, Taz, its a bloody good field imo, and about as tough as it gets with multiple group 1 winners in the field - a cracking renewal imo and if frankel can despatch of these lot with consumate ease he has nothing left to do at a mile. I really rate excelebration and think he could go on to be on a par with the likes of what canford cliffs achieved - but goes without saying only if frankel goes to stud or up in trip. I'm very much looking forward to the race, and the rest of champions day as well. I also think it is yet another error by the powers that be to put on the cheltenham meet on the same day.

Don't disagree Isty but I just don't think tomo's race will tell us anything we don't already know, that Frankel is well clear on ratings and has already beaten Excelebration twice before. As I've already said i'd rather him go to the BC and race against the best the Americans have to offer, but is highly unlikely.

the race tomo I'm looking forward to the most is the Champion Stakes, jam packed with top class 1 mile 1/4 horses. Hoping either Midday or Snow Fairy wins.

yeah agree, he should be going over to whoop some yank ass.

regards tomorrow the champion looks one hell of a puzzle to me. if it was 1m4f i would be all over nathaniel, but im a bit bemused why they said he couldnt go to the arc on this sort of ground - surely he would be better on firmish ground at a longer distance - especially the way he races. He is still a class act and expect him to go close, there doesn't appear to be a guaranteed out and out pace to the race so he might be able to lay up and burn them off after the bend. i agree midday and snow fairy massive dangers - more so midday as she has beaten the dunlop filly twice already though if it run fiercely it would play to snow fairys strengths enormously imo. The one that interests me most, however, is the unbeaten dubai prince. very smart juvenile form and must have had something go wrong over the winter, but pleasing reappearance and there has been money for it all week. why on earth would they run if they didnt think they had a chance ? it has likely been the target all along and this race is often taken by a horse that has avoided some of the tough g1's of the season and kept fresh. I think he is a good e/w punt

I'm a bit disappointed meeznah goes for the fillies and mayres over the long distance race, i really fancied her strongly tbh. Times up keeps improving but opinion poll got beat by a goodun last time and back in trip can take this

in the fillies and mayres i like ferdoos alot, and in the sprint i simply cant have deacon blues at 5/2 i know the race has cut up but he has never even raced in a group 1 never mind won one. dafeef beat him giving him 8lb last year and i think he's massively over priced at 33/1. for the record bated breath would have carried these home cant understand why he is'nt running

Won again easily, as expected. Wish i'd taken the 6/4 to win by more than 3 lengths as I was going to. Now Prince Khalid please send him to the BC.

He's the flat racing equivalent of Big Bucks, easy money. Hence the reason he was backed from 1-5 to 1-10 and the 2nd fav and likely 2nd for forecast purps was 5-1. Atm tho all he's doing proving to be the best miler by a country mile and beating the same horses albeit by ever increasing distances, i just hope before the end of his career they run him over a mile and a quarter.

As expected just as good over a mile and a quarter. Why is he still rated 1lb lower than Dancing Brave ? Won't be going to the Breeders despite it being his namesake's hometown as on dirt. But maybe the Arc ?

I went to York and took my 12 year old daughter just so she could say she had seen the great horse in action.

The atmosphere for the Juddmonte was fantastic especially when Frankel came to win the race on the bridle 2 out, not quite as good as a festival favourite coming to win a race but pretty good for a Flat meeting. Me and a few mates have booked tickets for our first visit to Ascot to see the greatest flat horse of all time run his final race.

If you're travelling to Ascot by car Chris i'd strongly suggest getting there early to avoid the rush for parking spaces. Its bad enough for the Royal meeting but i'd expect the crowd to be bigger if it def is Frankel's last race.

Thanks for the advice, my friend has managed to get us free 1st class tickets from Manchester so its all good. Looks like Frankel could be available at 1/4 or bigger but I would guess that will depend on the weather, a very wet week will see that price drift even further, a dry week and he will be back in to 1/10 again!

Via Reading or London ? The former is easier. Its been a dry day here but forecast for the next few days isn't so good so i'd expect the ground come Saturday to be no better than it is atm, soft. Ground won't be an issue for him, he's won on it before.

Barring a major downpour in the next 24 hours and the ground turning heavy he runs his last race tomo. Won't be the usual walk in the park as Cirrus and Nathaniel will be difficult to beat on soft ground. With 10lb and upwards in hand still shouldn't be a prob. But is he the greatest ever ?

probably as most of the others in the top bracket were beaten, where as he hasn't (yet) so we dont know his breaking point. having said that to ensure he goes down as the greatest they would need to keep him in training next year ( which they wont ) where he would win the dubai world cup, prince of wales, eclipse, king george, arc and breeders cup. then there would be no doubt .

Now time to geld the bugger and aim for the Supreme Novice's to see if he's really any good!
In the Members bar at Cheltenham when he hit the front it was met with a large round of applause, a nice touch.
